This commentary on John will be part of the New Testament Discourse Analysis Commentaries series, and will be one of the first discourse analytical commentaries that is based on a rigorous linguistic model.
One of the most exciting features of the volumes in this series is their narrowed focus. While most modern commentaries end up commenting on other commentaries, trying to cover every possible theological angle even at the expense of commenting on the text itself, this series will be a commentary on the Greek text itself. It has a maximum word limit of about 115K words—a very reasonable size for a text the length of John's Gospel.
